Teenage girl shot in possible drive-by shooting

The young victim told police she was walking outside when a car passed, then turned around.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office have another shooting victim on their hands, this time a teenage girl.

Investigators say they responded to Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning after a juvenile walked in reportedly suffering from a gunshot wound.

Investigators say they are working to uncover if the teenager or the younger male accompanying her were targeted. At this time police say there is no additional suspect description.

The young victim told police she and a younger male were walking in the area of Philips Highway and Emerson Street when an unknown vehicle with multiple people inside passed by and turned around. The victim told police she heard what sounded like gunshots before being struck with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
