JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Many gathered at the Jacksonville Landing on Saturday night to take part the final live and free events at the iconic Jacksonville landmark.
Crowds started arriving hours ago to take advantage of weekend festivities. Today’s events included a car show, beard competition and nighttime live concert.
The city announced the Landing would be demolished within the next few months.

Some we spoke to tonight said they like Mayor Lenny Curry’s idea of a waterfront park to replace the Landing.
Others, like Alonzo McNealy, say they don't want to see the Landing go.
"I don't care what they put in there!" said McNealy. "I think they should leave the Landing alone and find a bid on a decent buyer that can help put some shops and help put some revenue here."
McNealy says he has fond memories of the Landing dating back to his childhood.
