Thief takes Salvation Army donation kettle at Jacksonville Walmart

It's quickly becoming a sad Christmas tradition: Thieves are continuing to target the red Salvation Army kettle that sits in front of grocery stores and big-box retailers.

This time, is happened at the Walmart on Normandy Blvd. in Jacksonville.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, an unknown man got out of a silver Buick, walked up to the kettle as if he was going to donate money, then quickly unhooked it and ran off.

he theft occurred the same day someone stole a Salvation Army donation kettle filled with money from a south Tulsa, Oklahoma, Walmart.

No description of the suspect was given. The Buick had a paper tag on the back.
