BELL, Fla. — Dozens of Gilchrist County locals packed the fire department Tuesday to hear from Sheriff Bobby Schultz.
The meeting had been scheduled prior to the shooting tragedy, but he did speak about it briefly. He also discussed many other issues like patrols.
After the town hall, he wouldn't say much about the investigation into the bell shooting.
"Your Sheriff's Office is here to help you. Being law enforcement is about more than arresting people, it's about helping people," Schultz said.
A 911 call is now revealing the chilling moments after Don Spirit shot his daughter Sarah Spirit and her six children.

DCF has yet to comment on the report and Shultz wouldn't either.
"As far as what the Department of Children and Families do on their case, that's independent of us," said Schultz.
Shultz says his agency is not working with DCF but it is working with FDLE.
Detectives are now trying to determine how Don Spirit, a convicted felon was able to get a firearm.
"That is under investigation," Schultz said.
