JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Tropical Storm Erin is over the Eastern Atlantic Ocean and is moving quickly west.
Strengthening should begin in earnest later Wednesday with a possible hurricane while northeast of Puerto Rico over the weekend.

It still looks like Erin turns sharply enough north to stay east of Florida next week.
Looking at scenarios with Erin beyond the 5-day forecast, a curve to the north, and ultimately northeast remains favored thanks to a weakness in the ridge of high pressure that is currently steering the storm west.

The First Alert Weather Team said where/when that curve happens is important, and is not yet known.
