A veteran who was said he was attacked for his plans to vote for Donald Trump is now offering a $100 reward for information about his attacker.
"I feel like my life is destroyed," said Charlie Daniels.
The 68-year-old Vietnam war veteran has a broken arm after the attack at a Shell gas station on Edgewood Avenue on Sunday.
“I’m going to vote for Trump and this other guy starts cussing, 'What's Trump done for ya?'” said Daniels.
The veteran said he was in line talking to the clerk about the upcoming presidential election when another customer overheard him.
Daniels told police the suspect went outside the store and waited by a gas pump.
Daniels left the store and the man pushed him from behind and punched him in the face.
Surveillance video shows the suspect kick Daniels in the abdomen and stomp on his arm after he fell to the ground .
“He said, 'What do you think about that (expletive) now, you honky son of a (expletive),'" Daniels said.
Police said surveillance video shows Daniels trying to view the suspect's tag number, and then the man aggressively charges him again.
“The only thing I could do was run to my truck, try to lock the door," said Daniels. "He backed out so nobody get his tag number and went down the road.”
Daniels is offering a $100 reward to anyone with information about the attack.
“I was fighting for the Constitution and it doesn't matter to people," he said. "I guess we don't have any freedom anymore -- to me that's freedom of speech.”
Police describe the suspect as a man between 25 and 35 years old who is approximately 6 feet 2 inches and 225 pounds. He has deadlocks and a beard and was driving a white Suburban.
