JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Transportation Security Administration says it averaged six firearms a day discovered in carry-on bags last year, making 2014 a record breaking year.
In all, 2,212 firearms were found, up 22 percent from 2013.

Jacksonville International Airport ranked 36th in the country for guns found in carry-ons. TSA officers found 16 guns, 10 of which were loaded.
Officers found everything from hand guns to assault rifles. In a single day, they found 18 guns.
Travelers say they're glad the TSA is cracking down.
"I'm glad because I'm getting on that plane, I wanna be safe," said Tammy Phillips.
Guns weren't the only issue. The TSA also found things like grenades and flare guns.
