JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Knives, guns and Tasers: They're all weapons confiscated by local Transportation Safety Administration agents.
The TSA is constantly checking bags at the airport. During the process, they find items like brass knuckles, knives and even guns. Items travelers said don't belong on a plane.
A Taser could've made it onto a plane.
“That would make me nervous, especially if I was sitting next to the person that they took it from,” said traveler Paula Douglass.
But the TSA confiscates these weapons as soon as they're found.
“Very surprised that they still try to take that stuff on the planes,” said Douglass.

Douglass found out the TSA said every year, guns, knives, hatchets and all sorts of tools and weapons are found in travelers’ carry-on bags. The Taser is only a part of the 108 pounds of metal they've gotten this month.
“Most of the guns that our officers stop at the checkpoint are in fact loaded,” said TSA spokesperson Sari Koshetz.
Koshetz said officers have found more than a dozen guns this year. But she said it’s better than last year's numbers when they found 30 guns. She said Jacksonville's numbers are on a steady decline.
“Our officers train every day of the year to look for threats,” she said.
A threat that she said has gotten at least one traveler arrested this year. She said officers are checking the lining throughout the bags.

The TSA said you may face civil penalties from the TSA of up to $11,000 for trying to take prohibited items on a plane.
