JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The University of North Florida is planning to return to normal pre-COVID campus operations for the Fall Semester.
The notice went out to students on Wednesday in order for them to prepare to return to campus.
By returning to pre-COVID operations, the university is planning for a majority of face-to-face classes, having more people live in on-campus housing, and resuming events on campus.
The university states that due to their small size, especially compared to bigger schools, they have the opportunity to return to a “more normal daily life while still minimizing potential health risks.” However, the university does state that state and federal guidance will still be in place. This means the university may still require face masks, health screenings, and quarantining when necessary.
Currently the university is requiring face masks on campus, the implementation of a daily health screening tool, and social distancing. The upcoming graduation for the spring class of 2021 will have an in-person component with the Graduation Walk, but it is not a full graduation ceremony, and there will still be a virtual celebration.
