Loved ones gathered to remember the teen Wednesday evening. Beverly McClain, founder of Families with Slain Children, organized the vigil.
"It was so many young people out there and just to give a message of hope and encouragement to these young people," said McClain.
So far, JSO has not made any arrests in the case.
"We see this every day," McClain said. "We see families hurting every day. And I'm wondering to myself where do we go from here? How can we stop this?"
Visitation for the teen will take place at the Q.L. Douglas Funeral Home on Friday. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday.
