ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A Walmart store in St. Augustine has reopened after a transformer explosion caused an evacuation Sunday.
The building lost power and shoppers were evacuated after an electrical transformer exploded at the store off US 1 South, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.

Fire rescue units reported smoke in the warehouse area in the back of the building.
The smoke worsened when officials tried to restore power, according to SJCFR.
Crews on scene used high-powered fans to clear smoke while company electricians were en route.

Electricians made repairs and slowly restored power to each section of the building before the store was reopened.
No injuries were reported.
