Water taxis ordered by city start to arrive in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After more than a week of waiting, the two new water taxis ordered by the city of Jacksonville are beginning to be delivered.

One of two pontoon boats arrived late Thursday afternoon and is now on the Ortega River waiting for Coast Guard inspections.

Robbie Cunningham, the owner of Trident Pontoons, told Action News his company will help the city through the permitting process.

Action News spoke with a Coast Guard spokesperson late Thursday afternoon and she said no inspections have been scheduled.
