The 13th UK Trade Mission had its largest-ever city delegation, and included trade talks with the most companies to date

Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan attended the 13th UK Trade Mission in London this week - an annual event that coincides with the Jacksonville Jaguars trip to play NFL games.·

“It has been a busy and productive week,” Deegan posted on her Facebook page on Friday. “This year marked our largest delegation yet and trade talks with more than 400 companies - the most ever.”

The UK Trade Mission is an annual economic development and investment trip to London, led by Jacksonville’s mayor accompanies by local business leaders, city officials, and organizations like the JAX Chamber and JAXUSA Partnership.

Its goal is to strengthen international economic ties, promote Jacksonville as a premier destination for business investment, and encourage UK-based companies to expand or relocate to Northeast Florida.

“We strengthened economic ties and relationships that will create more jobs in Jacksonville and lead to more investment in our city,” Deegan said, though not announcing any specific deals.

The trip is an ongoing effort by city leadership to foster transatlantic trade partnerships and attract foreign direct investment back to Jacksonville.
