A man was hurt and three homes were hit by bullets after a shootout on Jacksonville's Westside.

Police say shots were fired on Longchamp Drive at Blanding Boulevard at approximately 11:40 a.m.

Witnesses said two men ran away from the scene and a Jeep drove off.

When Jacksonville Sheriff's Office got to the scene, witnesses told them there was a shootout.

The driver of the Jeep called police and told them he saw two people who he thought stole money from him. He approached them on Longchamp.

One of the men pulled out a gun and shot at the driver of the Jeep, the man told police.

The man returned fire and hit one of the men in the leg, police said.

That man showed up to St. Vincent's and will likely be arrested, JSO said.

Officers roped off a home and had guns drawn in a nearby mobile home park after the shooting.

Sky Action News Jax flew above several scenes near Blanding Boulevard and Collins Road Thursday afternoon.

Bullets went through the walls of a few homes, according to JSO. Action News Jax spoke with a family in one of those homes.

They said multiple bullets went through a little girl's bedroom wall. The family found a bullet in the little girl's bed and there was also a bullet that went through the doll house the little girl plays with.

A delivery driver in the area sent Action News Jax photos of police with guns and K9 units in the area.
