Woman charged with crashing into police car

A woman from Gainesville is accused of crashing into a police car.

Gainesville police said an officer pulled over a car on NW 8th Avenue early Monday morning.

The officer had just talked with the driver during the traffic stop and, as he walked back to his car, he noticed a car coming straight at him.

Police said the driver, identified as 23-year-old Ashley Nicole Broski, smelled of alcohol.

The officer moved out of the way.  The oncoming car ultimately slammed into the back of his patrol car and rolled 125 feet down the road before coming to a stop.

Investigators said Broski failed a sobriety test.  Her blood-alcohol content registered .202 and .203 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent.
