Police said it was another woman who frequents the area that found the body. It’s unclear if the woman who found her was a friend or if she knew her at all.

It happened on the city’s Westside near Wilson Boulevard and Aldington Drive.

Officers told Action News Jax someone found the woman around 6:30 p.m.on Sunday evening and called the police.

Officers said the size of the grassy area where she was found was about 25 yards by 25 yards off of Wison Blvd. Police suspect the area is a homeless camp because it was littered with trash and other items.

The cause of death has not been confirmed, but police suspect foul play, which is why homicide is now investigating.

Police have not released the age of the woman or the cause of death, but they said more details will be shared once the woman is properly identified.
