Officials found a 42-year-old woman dead in the road. The family told Action News the victim's name is Kelly Black and her dog Paco was with her at the time of the crash.

JSO said a semi-truck in the rear parking lot at the Kangaroo Station hit the victim and dragged her to the middle of the road. JSO said it appears the driver may not have known he hit the victim.

The driver is not known and there are no witnesses.

Paco stayed by Black's side until family arrived. The family said the two were inseparable.

“I don’t see  how someone could hit her here and drag her all the way out to Beaver St. and not have known it," said G.C. Bostick, victim's father. "I just don’t know how I’m going to tell her mama."

JSO is continuing to investigate.
