The woman who was said she was sexually assaulted after leaving a party in Mandarin told police she accepted a drink from her suspected rapist that she thinks was drugged, according a police report.

The victim told police that she was babysitting until midnight then went to a party in Mandarin on April 16.

She told police she believed there were drugs inside a drink she accepted from a man she didn't know at the party.

She said she drank open and unopened drinks throughout the night. She told police as she was walking to her car after leaving the party, a man grabbed her, forced her into a car and sexually battered her.

Neighbors in the area say there is a "party house" on the street but don't know where it happened.

"It's very shocking actually. It's a very peaceful neighborhood so to hear something like that, it's very sad," said Emily Phillips.

The victim reported the assault to police May 5 and officers released a sketch of the man on Thursday. Action News Jax asked a spokesperson why they waited three weeks to release information.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda said the case need to be investigated and after the investigative efforts were exhausted, they turned to the public for help.

It was later revealed that the victim was involved in a car accident and lied to her mother about where she was and where she was going at the time of the crash, according to the report.

It is unclear when the crash happened.

In the police report, it said someone told police they weren't sure if the victim reported one of the incidents to cover up her lies of if it actually took place.
