A family member took the woman to a local hospital, where officers found her with a gunshot wound to her left ankle. Her injuries are listed as non-life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police said the woman heard people arguing in the yard of an unknown residence. She then heard gunshots and ran. While running, she “felt a sharp pain in her foot and realized she had been shot,” Sgt. Richardson said.
Police said the victim did not see who was arguing and could not provide suspect information. Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident.
