Woman suing Victory Casino Cruises, claims she was assaulted by security

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville mother who sailed on the Victory Casino Two cruise ship has filed a lawsuit claiming she was assaulted by ship’s director of security.

Rod Sullivan says his client intended to have a fun time out on the water in celebration of her upcoming birthday. But that trip quickly turned into a nightmare for Christina Reeves. Sullivan says that on March 26 she was assaulted after she was told she could no longer play Texas Hold’em.

Sullivan says “There were words exchanged and then the director of security came out and grabbed my client, threw her to the deck kneeled on her back and put her in handcuffs.”

Sullivan says Reeves was then dragged across the floor and locked in a holding cell for the rest of the cruise. He says she suffered injuries to her leg along with hurting her back.

Sullivan says “she actually has herniated disk and a number of bulging disks in that area. So she's undergoing medical treatment now she goes to physical therapy.”

Sullivan included an MRI report in the lawsuit. He also says he’s requested the footage form the Casino’s security cameras but so far he hasn’t received anything.

Sullivan says, “That leads me to believe that there's nothing good on the videotapes for Victory Casino and that the videotapes are going to confirm what my client said happened.”

Sullivan says that if necessary they will go to trial but he hopes they can reach a settlement to help pay his client’s medical bills.
