None — ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Action News has new details about the alleged kidnapping and extortion case surrounding a Ponte Vedra mother.
Action News has learned Quinn Gray is now undergoing outpatient treatment in Ocala. She has been there since November. According to the paperwork, she arrived at the facility with Alcohol Dependence and Bi-Polar Disorder problems.
Action News also has an email from Reid Gray to the judge about a plea deal made with Jasmine Osmanovic in January. It was a deal made just days after he told police where to find a gun. We have the taped interview between Osmanovic, his lawyer and a detective. He admits the fake kidnapping and extortion ordeal between him and Quinn Gray was a bad idea. "It was the dumbest freaken kidnapping job on the face of the earth," Osmanovic told a detective.
But for the first time, he's telling police he had a gun during the whole thing. He drew the detective a map of where to find that gun in his car shop. It's the gun Gray says Osmanovic threatened her with, but he has has a different story. "You mentioned leaving it in the room with her, is that true," asked the detective. "Yeah, Saturday night when I told you she was by herself. When I opened the doors, she almost shot me with the damn thing," said Osmanovic.
The interview is from January 13th. Osmanovic left jail on the 15th. As part of his plea deal he will testify against Gray at trial and will pay St. John's County money for their time in the investigation.
So why didn't Osmanovic tell police about the gun before? "It wasn't registered to me. I freaked out," he told the detective. Also with that gun was some of Gray's jewelry.
All of this isn't making Quinn Gray's husband, Reid, happy. Action News has a copy of an email Reid sent to the judge complaining about the plea deal. He says, "The fact that the State Attorney's office recovered a loaded firearm on Thursday night then struck a deal with the defendant for his release the next morning and not tell the court or me, the victim, in the case is astounding."
Osmanovic will be sentenced next month, just a few days before Quinn Gray has her pre-trial hearing.
