New guidelines issued for vaccinations for adults

Too many adults in the U.S. are not rolling up their sleeves and getting vaccinated.

New guidelines were issued Tuesday by a national advisory panel for the Centers for Disease Control.

According to new numbers, only 44 percent of adults over the age of 19 have had a flu shot. Doctors say it's a tough sell because it requires a yearly vaccination.

Doctors say vaccinations not only protect you, but it helps keep family, friends and coworkers around you from getting sick.

And only 20 percent of adults had a Tdap vaccine, which protects against tetanus and whooping cough.
