JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The news was like a gut punch for the Georgia Bulldogs football program.
Todd Gurley had been suspended while the University was looking into whether he received improper benefits for signing autographs.
Last week Gurley acknowledged making mistakes and the Bulldogs applied to the NCAA for his reinstatement.
Freshman Nick Chubb helped the Bulldogs (6-1) beat Missouri 34-0 and Arkansas 45-32 after leading that one 38-6 at the half. Chubb was dominant running the ball 68 times for 345 yards and three touchdowns in the two wins.

“We’re just waiting for a response,” said Dawgs coach Mark Richt, Sunday. Not that he should be worried, Georgia has played its best football without the Heisman trophy frontrunner.
