JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is trying to figure out what caused a crash between a SUV and cab in downtown Jax Sunday morning.
The impact closed stretches of Main St. and Forsyth St. for hours and left one person fighting survive.
Three people were inside the taxi at the time.
A SUV was heading down Main St. and crashed into a cab at Forsyth St.

On his way to church Sunday morning Parker DuPont came across the chilling crash scene.
A one time powerful vehicle is now crushed and unrecognizable. Its driver is left in critical condition.
“It's terrible to hear, beyond terrible,” DuPont said.
Detectives and crime scene technicians investigated while crews swept up pieces of the vehicles left littering the intersection.
“It's terrible to see on a weekend that's fun-related,” DuPont said.

DuPont lives only blocks away.
He said this is not an area known for speeding but knows the one way streets downtown can cause problems.
“Being from here you learn to like that and it's your city, but looking around, the roads can be a little confusing at times,” DuPont said.
Police told Action News all 3 people in that cab are expected to be ok.
Officers have not said who is at fault, or if speed and alcohol were factors.
