The fire started just after 3 a.m. Saturday, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue. — A home on Creekside Drive will need extensive repairs after a fire destroyed a portion of its roof and interior.

Firefighters reported seeing smoke and flames on the front porch, and heavy fire inside the house.
U.S. 1 was closed to allow firefighters access to hydrants.
Fire Rescue said the family was able to get out of the home unharmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
