Police: Florida man blames 'poltergeists' after attacks with pole, sword

Jovaughn Walker, 22, entered a convenience store a little after 10 a.m. Sunday in Lauderhill and began to hit an 82-year-old man with a metal pole, WSVN reports. He hit the victim "with what appears to be a metal pole that you would use to maybe hang up a shelf, like in a store type of thing," Lauderhill Police Maj. Rick Rocco told WSVN. "He just starts pummeling him around the face and the head area."

Walker was spotted later at a Fort Lauderdale  flea market, where police said he grabbed a 3-foot samurai sword from a display and began to chase an employee. The employee was slashed by the sword at least eight times, the New York Daily News reports.
