Health inspector finds roaches & flies in Baymeadows restaurant

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax visited India House on Baymeadows Road after health inspectors noted violations.

A health inspector found live roaches, dead roaches and small flying insects on the cook line and in the dry goods area. A follow-up inspection is required.

At Old City House Inn & Restaurant in St. Augustine, a health inspector found temperature violations. The temperature violations were in relation to cooked pork and vegetables and expired marinara sauce in the refrigerator. Inspectors issued a stop sale order on other items that were thrown out. A follow-up inspection is required.

At Osaka Japanese Steakhouse in Jacksonville, an inspector saw an employee touching ready-to-eat food with bare hands, the pans were not properly sanitized and no time markings were on the rice for sushi, tempura batter or tempura cooked shrimp.
