Staffing shortage leads to trash pickup problems in St. Augustine

St. Augustine, FL — Those living in the City of St. Augustine may experience some delays in trash pickup.

The city said Monday it’s because of “unforeseen staff shortages” and equipment malfunctions.

If your trash wasn’t picked up Monday, leave it on the curb today.

Yard debris will not be collected Wednesday, May 4.

If your scheduled pickup is on Tuesday and it’s missed, leave it on the curb Wednesday.

“We pride ourselves on impeccable service and have been able to provide uninterrupted services even while we have seen our neighboring communities struggle,” said Utilities Director Todd Grant. “However, we are not immune to those same challenges of equipment problems and workforce reliability.”
