$6,000 in stolen quarters found in baby stroller, police say

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A California woman stole $6,000 in quarters Friday and tried to get away with the loot hidden in a baby stroller, police said.

She was arrested and charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest and two outstanding misdemeanor warrants, the Bakersfield Californian reported.

Police saw Darrin Fritz, 29, struggling to push the stroller and went to check her welfare when they came upon the cache of coins, officials said.

Fritz tried to flee, police said.
