WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Florida man is in critical condition after losing his arm when he was run over by a boat while diving with a group Thanksgiving Day.
His mother, Leila Viss, said her son suffered "severe damage to all his limbs."
Carter Viss, 25, was injured when a boat decelerated after seeing a dive flag. Florida Fish and Wildlife officials said Daniel Stanton, 30, was operating the boat.
A good Samaritan recovered Viss' severed arm and gave it to the U.S. Coast Guard. It was unable to be reattached.
