PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla — A professional golfer is making headlines for an sudden act of kindness performed on the golf course.

Greg Owen is 6 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 205 pounds and will do anything for a birdie… a baby bird, that is.

According to a post by Ziegler Golf School on Facebook, Owen was practicing at the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida when a bird fell right out of the sky.

Determined to save the bird, Owen stripped down to his boxer briefs and carefully waded into the pond, carefully scooping up the adventurous baby bird, bringing him back to safety.

He was walking off the 16th tee, and baby blue jay tumbled out of a tree and tried to fly across a pond. The tiny creature couldn’t quite make it, and splashed into the water, where he flailed desperately.
