Police superheroes surprise kids in Texas hospital

SAN ANTONIO — Not all superheroes wear capes, but once in a while they actually do.

Police in San Antonio have proven it.

Superheroes like Batman, Superman and Captain America rappelled down the side of the hospital to surprise patients between the ages of 2 and 16.

Officers with the San Antonio Police Department's SWAT Team, as well as members of the city's fire department, were on hand to celebrate the Fourth Annual Julian Andrade Superhero Drop at North Central Baptist Hospital.

The Superhero Drop is held each year in honor of Julian Andrade, a pediatric patient at the hospital and son of a San Antonio police officer. Julian lost his battle against cancer at the age of 5 in 2015.
