LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Employees at a Kentucky Walmart helped a woman escape a domestic violence situation, law enforcement officials said.

Police in Laurel County answered a report of a woman who was hiding in the store while her boyfriend looked for her, WAVE reported.

Police and sheriff’s deputies said the woman told employees that she had been held against her will in a tent by her boyfriend, Elmo Clinton Carroll.

When she tried to leave, she said Carroll would hit her and she did have injuries on her jaw and nose, WAVE reported.
