NEW YORK — A 22-year-old man was killed and four people, including an 11-year-old child, were injured when a gunman opened fire at a park where people were gathered for a barbecue, authorities said.
The incident occurred at about 11:15 p.m. EDT after a fight broke out at Claremont Park in the Bronx, WABC reported. More than 200 people attended the barbecue, according to the television station.
The 11-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder, according to WCBS. Another 22-year-old man was shot in the leg, and a 24-year-old woman was in critical condition after she was shot twice in the chest, according to the television station.
