SACRAMENTO, Calif. — One man was killed and three other people were wounded after a shooting early Sunday in a California parking lot, authorities said.
According to a news release from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, gunfire erupted in the parking lot in Sacramento at about 12:16 a.m. PDT.
Deputies responding to the scene discovered two men and a woman lying in a local business’ parking lot with at least one gunshot wound each, The Sacramento Bee reported.
First responders pronounced one man dead at the scene, while the other two people were taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, KCRA-TV reported. A fourth person suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital in a private vehicle before deputies arrived, the sheriff’s office said in its news release.
The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin, according to the sheriff’s office.
No other information was released by the sheriff’s office, including what led to the shooting or any possible motives.
