NAMPA, Idaho — Police in Nampa, Idaho, are used to wrangling all types of animals, but an alligator might have been a first.

The Nampa Police Department posted on Facebook that they were called to capture a 6-foot alligator Tuesday evening.

The post shows police officers and Idaho Fish and Game officials subduing the animal under a trailer.

This is Nampa, IDAHO not Tampa, FLORIDA, but we found ourselves helping Idaho Fish & Game on this call last night. We sometimes herd cows, horses, occasionally deal with deer and even a moose last year...but a 6’ alligator? In Nampa? Pretty sure this was a first. We don’t have details about this critter, or really how it ended up where it ended up, but it’s been wrangled and it’s secure now. Thanks Fish & Game for knowing what to do and for taking care of this situation.
