Fans of Rose, Dorothy, Blanche and, of course, Sophia, will want to get out the cheesecake and gather at the table as the first convention honoring the fandom of “The Golden Girls” is being planned.

“The Golden Girls” will be the subject of the “Golden Con: Thank You For Being a Fan” convention in Chicago next year.
It is being billed as a first-of-its-kind convention and is scheduled from April 22 through the 24 in the Northalsted section of the city, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Organizers said that there will be a “The Greatest Gift” vendor’s market, guest stars, a disco party, a costume parade and a pop-up Rusty Anchor Bar.
The group putting on the convention are trying to get Betty White, who turns 100 on Jan. 17, 2022, to attend, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Tickets will go on sale next year.
“The Golden Girls” aired from 1985 until 1992 and won 11 primetime Emmy awards, according to IMDB.
It can still be seen on streaming services and in syndication.
