ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. — Atlantic Beach Police Department Commander Tiffany Layson said that woman, identified only as being in her 40's, was almost home from her daily walk when the three men pulled up beside her near the intersections of West 14th and Jasmine Streets at approximately 4 p.m.

"A subject wearing a ski mask jumped out and attacked her, drug her into a vehicle and transported her to a nearby wooded area," said Layson.

Layson said the suspects drove only two blocks to the end of Tulip Street. In broad daylight, Layson said the men beat the woman until she blacked out, and took all of her jewelry.

"She was injured from the attack and they left her there in the wooded area."

When she awoke, Layson said, the woman had no idea where she was, but was able to locate her cell phone and call for help. Police then lined every street until they heard her screams, and located her in the woods.

The woman was transported to the hospital with cuts and bruises, and has since been released.

Police are now looking for those suspects. The victim described the male that initiated the assault as a white male, 25-30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches, medium build, with an unknown clothing description. She believes they were driving a dark-colored car, possibly with four doors.
