JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Watch First Alert Weather Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh's forecast for the rest of the week coming up on CBS47 Action News Jax at 5.

The First Alert Weather Team is tracking the heaviest and most widespread rain our area has seen since August.

Bands of very heavy rain will continue to move northwest across the area through early this evening before finally gradually diminishing.

Rainfall amounts will average 2-4" to as much as 5" from I-95 to the coast, 1-2" west of I-95. The next high tide cycle at the beaches will be 5 to 6 pm and will add to some of the flooding. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.

There will still be scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms Tuesday with some locally heavy rain possible as temperatures top out between 80 and 85 degrees.

TROPICS: Two areas of low pressure will be developing over the Atlantic this week.  Each could be tropical or subtropical - one between the Carolina's and Bermuda & the other southeast of Bermuda.  Neither will impact Jacksonville but rough seas & surf will occur for the Mid Atlantic & New England as the Western Atlantic low pressure system moves north then turns northeast away from the U.S.
