None — Ernesto has strengthened a bit as of 10am on August 3rd. More strengthening is possible as it moves over the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea. However, that strengthening could be slow to occur since wind shear (increasing winds with height) will have some impact on it as it tracks across the Caribbean.
Forecast models continue to vary on whether it'll stay on a westward track towards Mexico...or if it will start to curve towards the north due to a weakness in the sub-tropical ridge that's currently helping to steer it westward. It could possibly enter the Gulf by next week (the week of Aug. 6th)....So, Ernesto is definitely one storm to watch. It's best that you stay up to date with its progression daily.
Also...there is another tropical disturbance behind Ernesto that needs to be watched called Invest 90 L. Potential is there for it to develop into a named system, and if so...it'll be called Florence. As for now, it looks like this storm has a good chance of taking a northward curve earlier on in its track across the Atlantic...keeping it away from the Caribbean. But, things could change...so, stay tuned.
