Man looks up skirt twice, touches woman's leg at Westside Walmart, JSO says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who they say was caught on camera looking up a woman's skirt at a Walmart on Jacksonville's Westside.

The incident was reported Sunday inside Walmart on Normandy Boulevard in Hyde Park.

The JSO report said surveillance video shows the man kneeling down and looking under the woman’s skirt twice, then standing up and touching her thigh as if he was trying to put his hand under her skirt.

“He’s committed a battery by touching her leg,” Action News Jax Crime and Safety Expert Ken Jefferson said.

JSO said the woman later called Walmart to tell an employee what happened.

The man was still inside the store, and employees kicked him out.

“Immediately get away. Don’t engage him. Don’t try to tell him to stop. Just immediately get away, notify store officials. There are hundreds of cameras, generally, in this particular type of store that can capture it on surveillance video,” Jefferson said.

“I’ve been shopping at this Walmart my whole life,” customer Susie Bryan said.

Even before Bryan found out about the accusations, she was taking precautions.

“I don’t feel super comfortable, so I do text my parents when I’m leaving and when I’m coming,” Bryan said.

“It’s wrong,” Walmart shopper Donna Franklin said. “I’m going to definitely check out my surroundings.”

This isn't the first time that local women have been touched inappropriately by a stranger at Walmart. In 2014, three teenagers accused Marco Evora of groping them at a Walmart in Middleburg.
