Do you have any information on Florida’s unsolved AMBER Alert cases?

FLORIDA — Right now in the state of Florida, there are currently seven active AMBER Alert cases that have remained unsolved.

AMBER Alerts are emergency messages that are issued when police determine that a child has been abducted and is in imminent danger, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

On Thursday, National AMBER Alert Awareness Day, the FDLE is asking the community to take another look at these cases in hopes of bringing loved ones home safely.

One of the AMBER Alert cases is that of a local girl. Haleigh Cummings was 5 years old when she was discovered missing from her Putnam County home on Feb. 10, 2009.

The oldest case dates back to 2000, when a Clearwater 8-year-old boy named Zachary Bernhardt disappeared from his bedroom. The most recent is the abduction of Andrew Caballeiro, who was just 1 week old when authorities said he was taken in Miami in 2020. His abductor, Ernesto Caballeiro, was found dead, but the child is still missing.

“Citizen-provided information and tips continue to prove invaluable in missing children cases throughout Florida,” FDLE Commissioner Rick Swearingen said.

Jarkeius was abducted by three unknown males during an early morning home invasion robbery on October 18, 2001. Jarkeius was last seen wearing a red, white, and blue shirt and a diaper. Bryan was last seen in the Estero, Florida area. He may be in the company of a heavyset white/hispanic female, who was approximately 28-30 years old at the time Bryan went missing in 2006. She had long straight black hair, wearing blue jeans and a black blouse. They may be traveling in a two door black Ford Explorer SUV. The companion is armed and should be considered dangerous. A Florida AMBER Alert has been issued for an Unidentified Female approximately age 12-15, last seen in the area of the 1600 block of Barna Avenue in Titusville, Florida. She was last seen wearing a green shirt with a gold logo and khaki pants. She has multicolored braids in her hair. She was last seen being pulled into a dark or charcoal colored SUV with an unknown tag, by an unknown dark-skinned person. (Narrative provided by Florida Department of Law Enforcement)

Active AMBER Alert case in Florida Trenton was last seen in the area of Leesburg, Florida on 08-26-06. He was last seen wearing a green and blue striped shirt, blue denim shorts, and no shoes. Anyone seeing Trenton's mother, or her vehicle in the vicinity of the Ocala National Forest or the Orlando area on Saturday or Sunday 08/26/2006 or 08/27/2006 is urged to call. A Florida AMBER Alert has been issued for HaLeigh Cummings who was last known to be sleeping in her home, in the area of Hermit's Cove in Satsuma, FL, on the evening of February 9, 2009. Haleigh was discovered missing during the early morning hours of February 10, 2009. She may still be in the local area. Her clothing description is unknown. HaLeigh has a 4 inch round birth mark on the lower left side of her back and a birthmark in front of her left ear. In addition, HaLeigh's ears are also pierced. Zachary was last known to be sleeping in his bed on the night of September 10, 2000. At approximately 4 a.m. on September 11, 2000, he was discovered missing, and is missing under suspicious circumstances. He goes by the nickname Zach. He has a scar under his chin, a scar between his eyes on the bridge of his nose, and on the right side of his upper lip.
