21-year-old woman charged with murder in fatal stabbing in Tapestry Park

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police have identified the woman behind a deadly incident that unfolded inside Tattersall at Tapestry Park Thursday.

Action News Jax first told you patrol officers were called to a local hospital where a man suffering fatal injuries had been driven. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, around 2:30 a.m., the woman dropped off the victim who was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.

On Friday, investigators announced they’ve arrested Shacourtney Jamerson, 21, in the murder.

JSO said the woman had been detained and was being questioned.

Jamerson and the male victim reportedly knew each other and investigators believe a fight broke out between the two prior to the stabbing.

In addition to second-degree murder, Jamerson is charged with criminal mischief and armed trespassing, according to jail records. She is scheduled to face a judge Friday, Dec. 31, at 1:00 p.m.
