JSO: Man dead, woman named person of interest after incident at apartments off Southside Blvd.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead and a woman is custody for questioning following an incident at an apartment complex off Southside Boulevard on Thursday.

Just before 2:30 a.m., the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said officers were called out to a local hospital for a suspicious death.

Officers said that a woman dropped off a man at the hospital where medical personnel pronounced him dead.

The woman was then taken into custody as a person of interest and will be questioned to determine her involvement.

Officers said the woman indicated that the deadly incident occurred at the apartment complex on Tapestry Park Circle.

Action News Jax saw detectives and crime scene unit vans on scene at the Tattersall at Tapestry Park for the death investigation.

The sheriff’s office’s preliminary investigation revealed that the man and woman were involved in a domestic dispute where the man was injured and later died at the hospital.

JSO could not provide details about the man’s injuries, because of a potential witness detectives are looking to speak to and to protect the integrity of its investigation.

Officers are working the case as an undetermined death unless the medical examiner’s office determines that a homicide occurred.

Police told Action News Jax that the incident appears to be isolated and there is no threat to the community.
