New information on the rescue of a teenage boy from a shark attack is coming from just-released 911 calls.

Action News Jax first reported how the 13-year-old was pulled from the waters of Neptune Beach on Sunday.

On Monday, we spoke to the rescuers who worked to keep him calm as he was bleeding on the beach.

Lifeguards ran out of the emergency center about 500 feet away to where the boy was bit by the shark.

On the 911 calls, we can hear what they did in the first moments after he was bitten by a 6-foot shark. The callers indicated the boy was hurt pretty bad.

Caller: "Somebody just got bit by a shark."

Dispatch: "Somebody got bit by a shark. Okay, are they okay, I mean apart from them being bit?"

Caller: "He's hurt. He needs help right now."

We're told that 13-year old boy is still in the hospital and his injuries aren't life threatening.
