Clay County Sheriff's alleged mistress resigns JSO corrections officer post

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office corrections officer at the center of the Clay County Sheriff sex scandal has resigned.

JSO said Cierra Smith's last day was on Monday. Action News Jax also reported on Tuesday that Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels' wife filed for divorce.

According to new documents filed on Friday, his wife claimed their marriage is "irretrievably broken." His wife is requesting alimony.
