JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Duval County Public School District’s COVID-19 Cases Dashboard underwent a total transformation.

The new features include the number of districtwide cases, an interactive map of schools with aggregate case counts by day, week, month, and school year, as well as a pie chart of case distributions by school type and board district.

DCPS Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene said they changed the look and feel of the dashboard.

Dr. Greene said it will help families see real-time information in a student’s school and across the district.

“We wanted to add a little color to it and some more functionality to it,” Dr. Greene said.

“We’ve evolved in trying to be as transparent as possible and give parents and families as much information as possible,” Dr. Greene said.

The school district also changed how it reports positive COVID-19 cases.

Before, DCPS waited until the Florida Department of Health completed contact tracing and closed its case to report it on the dashboard.

Now, when FDOH confirms a positive case, DCPS adds it to the dashboard.

DCPS said the dashboard will be updated nightly at 8 p.m.
