Christy Turner

Christy Turner joined the Action News Jax team as a reporter in May 2017.

Prior to that, Turner spent two years at WOKV News 104.5 in Jacksonville. After six months as a reporter at WOKV, Christy was promoted to anchor for Jacksonville’s Morning News. WOKV has been recognized by the Associated Press as the most honored radio news team in Florida.

Christy played a role in covering the 2015 fire at the Belleza Condominiums which led to the St. Johns County Fire Rescue launching an internal investigation into the response of fire personnel. As a result of her reporting at WOKV, a dispatcher was fired and an engineer resigned.

Born and raised in Orlando, Christy attended college at Northwestern University where she earned a scholarship to play Division 1 women’s lacrosse. While at Northwestern, Christy was named Captain and helped lead her team to two national championships.

She graduated in June 2014 with a degree in Journalism.

When she’s not out covering stories, Christy enjoys watching or playing sports, playing Call of Duty and spending time with loved ones.
