DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A 46-year-old Jacksonville man is dead after being hit by a vehicle early Monday on the Northside.
Troopers said the man was killed at US-17 and Zoo Parkway near the Jacksonville zoo.

FHP did not release a description for the vehicle at this time, but said the investigation is ongoing.
Investigators tweeted about the crash just after 2 a.m., but they are unsure of what time the crash happened Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers are looking for the driver who left the scene.
Lanes were closed in the area but have since reopened.
