JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As Hurricane Sally affects the Florida panhandle, JEA crews are getting ready to help communities recover. Wednesday morning, JEA will deploy 30 crew members, vehicles, and 12 six-inch water pumps. They’re going to help with water restoration and wastewater management in Escambia County. The crews will be ready to start working as soon as it’s safe after the storm passes. JEA says they could be helping for as long as 14 days.

JEA says the crews will be aware of coronavirus exposure risks and wearing masks, social distancing, daily sanitizing of JEA vehicles, limiting the number of workers, and daily health screenings.

This is the third time JEA has helped with storm damage this hurricane season.
